Getting heated up

Yesterday was another freaking hot day! All 3 of us were hiding in the room with air conditioned and fan blasting. It was just too hot and I told hubby that I just wish that I had a pool in front of me to dip!

With this idea, we decided to head off to Sengkang Swimming Complex. It was newly built sometime early this year and heard some good review on this place. In total, the complex house 2 adults pool, 1 children's pool and 8 slides. I noticed this place is very wheel chair friendly as they are rams everywhere including the pool.

Considering the entrance fee for weekend, $2.00 for adult and $1.00 for children, it's definitely worth going. This complex has a 24hours McDonald and 7-Eleven.

When we reached the complex, I was swarmed by the many cars parking illegally by the road side. This tells me, it's going to be real crowded inside there as many people sharing the same thoughts.

As you can see, here's the children's pool, super crowded. Zach was elated to see the slides and playground and he wanted to climb up into one of the slides. Maybe next time, mummy will bring you down together.

We swam for about an hour an half and decided to have a shower and head out for dinner.

One reason which makes me consider to come back to this place is the water pressure is BAD! I can bet you that Zach's pee is faster and bigger than the one I had in the shower room. Water were merely trickling down and I'm having a hard time choosing which body part to go first. I was so frustrated with the water pressure and I decided to go without a bath. I change into my clothing with the cholorine smell sticking to my skin.

We had Boon Tong Kee's chicken rice for dinner and we did some grocerries shopping in Giant before calling a day. Oh, another thing after 2 years of missing swimming my body was aching all over.. *ouch* (only 2 laps and that's it!)

I will not be blogging on this restaurant as I personally find the food here so-so only and price wise, it’s at a little high end for the quality of food. I had Korean once at PNB Darby Park, Kuala Lumpur (Koong Jung) and I found that was quite an experience for the price we paid and quality of food that comes with it. I was fortunate as the bill goes straight to my company’s account.

This was Zach’s 1st visit to Esplanade and his first taste of Korean food at Jang Shou Korean Charcoal BBQ. I gave him some Kimchi’s soup and greens which he took it off from the table and start munching the greens. I’m quite amazed at him as I personally find the greens a little tad too plain for my likings :p.

Zach took it well on the Kimchi’s soup which I find that it tasted more like a pure tomatoe soup boil for several hours with cabbages and pork.

Sand, Sun, Sea

My legs are aching.......Am I lacking of exercise these days? I guess so.

We went to East Coast Park today and the weather is good. We walk along the beach and Zach gets to play with the sand and water. It was his first time to ECP and he was pretty execited to see children roller blading, cyclist zooming past him, friendly dogs and pretty chicks roller blading. ha...He was OooHing, AHhhing and screaming away. Hands shake, legs shaking all at one time.

Been there, Done that, Seen that...

Zach loves the sand, he crawl and dig into the sands.

Was quite worrying that he will take some sands into his mouth. However, I guess he's smart to know it will create real mess in his mouth. :D

Weekend campers

Was telling hubby that next year we'll join the campers a night under the star :)

my 1st Baby toy...

I decided to buy a handheld blender to make puree for Zach when he turns 6 mths. I can't wait to use the blender as I enjoy experimenting all kinds of food for Zach.

This is what I bought from Courts and it cost less than SGD50.

So far, I have tried puree:-

1) Sweet potatoe

2) Carrot

3) Pumpkin

4) Apple

5) Pear

6) Corns

7) Avocado

8) Brocolli

9) Chicken

10) Spinach

I will puree and keep them in cubes to freeze them. So, whenever I need to warm it up, I will just pop one out from the freezer and warm them in the warmer and voila! His meal will be ready in 5-10mins!

This is my first baby toy I bought and I love it to bits :) . I'm going to use it to make some ice blended drinks which I have yet to experiment it.

It's easy to use and I only need to wash 2 parts. The blender and the container. That's the beauty of it especially for lazy soul like me.

I find this is a good investment and very handy and portable.

Indulgence

Aint this pretty?

We went to Vivo City today to have lunch. We stop by Daiso (Japanese $2 shop) and this place practically sell anything you can name. It's like a mini supermart and you will spend at least an hour there.

I bought some pretty looking plates, cup and teapot. I can't resist them and I just need to have it. I love Japanese stuff as they are so pretty and they give some elegance to the user. haha...Yea, women have many excuses when coming to shopping :p Guys, you can never outdo a woman on this.

They have many types of printing designs and shapes. I guess I will go back there again to get their sake bottle (MH will give me a frown on this coz we don't drink sake). Maybe I can think of something to put in instead of sake. Hmm...

Look at the nice little teapot. MH was asking me what I'm going to do with this? Oh yes, as usual I will answer him with my matter of fact tone I'm going to have my green tea with this teapot and cup. And drinking with this will make it more "shiok". You should see his look when I told him this. Men will tell you that they don't drink tea, coffee, juice in proper cups, mug....

They are the most practical creatures on earth.

I wanted to get 2 of this but I was not fast enough as this lady and her hubby grab almost a basket full of this cup. Are they setting up a sushi bar?

Guess what? Psychology marketing has taken effect on me. Seeing this lady grab, I also need 1. And this is one and only left on the shelf, so I thought this was a good buy. Ha!

I just love the print on the teapot and I was having a tough time choosing from the various designs they have!

Do let me know in advance when you guys are free for tea. I'll get my teapot ready to serve you, eh.


Green tea anyone?


For the time being, I shall enjoy my tea with this teapot and of course I have to use it more often as MH will be eyeing on me to enjoy my green tea "shiok shiok".

T3 - New Terminal in Changi

Last night we took the opportunity to visit the new and spanking terminal in Changi. I was sending my brother off and thereafter we took a walk around the airport. Some of the shops were closed as it was around midnight. Nevertheless, I'm still very impressed with some of the shops and eateries which are still open. It even has NTUC which I find it rather interesting for an airport these days to have their local supermart in the airport. Basically, Basement 2 is more like a shopping heavan for those with last minute shoppings/souveniers. Also, there's a Watson just for those who plan to get their last minute toiletries. Is like a mini shopping mall at this level and it has KOPI~the local foodcourt and there are a number of stalls which are still open at this wee hours for late night travellers. Other local eateries like Ya Kun Kaya Toast set up a cool and relaxing place to hang out.

We have yet to explore the other level which they house a number of restaurants like Crystal Jade, Earle Swensen's, Dian Xiao Er, Sakae Tepanyaki, tcc... I'll definitely visit Changi-T3 again but of course with a reason. Anyone flying off from here, please let me know..haha....else my hubby will find it ridiculously wrong for me to "past my time" in the airport! Also, parking is not cheap there!

Mia

It was my first time seeing my little niece, Mia since she was born on 4th Feb 07. Last week, my bro came back with his family for 2 weeks vacation and I have waited this long to meet her and I felt in love with her the moment I see her. She's such a darling!

She only cries for attention when she's hungry or sleepy. The rest of the time she's an angel.

Guess I'm going to miss her soon and wonder when will be the next occassion I will get to see her again .... :(

The Making of Teddy Bear

Guess I'm too free nowdays and I decided to past my time creating my own teddy bear. It was so called a "gift" from a good friend to past my time and I guess she's not aware that I don't learn home science as part of my school subjects. :p My handiwork sucks......

I'm going to digress here, during my school days one of our projects to construct a mini size table for our SRP (Sijil Rendah Pernilaian) and "Ukiran" (crafting) for our SPM (Sijil Pernilaian Malaysia). It's so called a major project to us in order to pass this subject. Both of this subject I got a C+ and it was sweat and pain to make the table looks like a table but heck, I have 4 woobly table legs in the end! And the ukiran .... I must say you have to be creative enough to imagine the pattern or the so called "artist" trying to deliver her piece of art :p

Here I am again (am I too free or what???) trying to make my own teddy bear. I show it to my hubby and his first re-action... "Wifey, think I just get you a teddy bear".... :( Is that an insult or what???

This is how it looks before stuffing the cotton balls. The sewing process from head to toe takes me 2 days (of course with few some errors in between whereby I had to unpick and re-sew!!!)

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost give up in between but after a few remarks and "jittering" from hubby, I'm so determine to complete it! Thanks to his morale "support", I'll be giving this to him as his early X'mas present! HAHAHA..... :p

My gyane warns me, thou u pass your glucose test it doesn't mean it gives u a license to continue binge on sweet stuff!!! :p Sorry, Dr. I have to blame on my sweet tooth!

This cookie was introduce by my ex-colleague and it's so addictive. You can buy them in Cold storage, NTUC, Carefour and they come in all types but I just love this particular one. It must be round and says Brussels! Finger licking good and is so addictive and divine.....!
