6 mths going on 7 mths...

I'm half way through my 2nd trimester and everyone's telling me that this is the "honeymoon" time! I wonder this is to console me and to get ready for the 3rd trimester ultimatum? So, this is what I discover during my "honeymoon time" and you tell me....

  1. Requires minimum 20-30' of tossing and turning to find a comfort position to sleep. This contributes to depriving of sleep lately.
  2. Daily experience of Braxton Hicks Contraction (contraction of the uterus that is normally painless, but can sometimes be quite irritating. It consists of a localized tightening in your belly, which does not travel, but stays in one spot)

However, the periodically kicking of the baby is a WONDERFUL feeling that any mummy would agree with me. And I begin to notice (I "think") the normal waking and sleeping routine of him at certain hours. He will wakes up at 7-7:15am to begin his tai-chi or kung-fu exercise and sleep back around 8 plus and he's extremely active around 10:45pm - midnight. Sometimes he enjoys sitting on my bladder using it as his waterbed.

Whever he kicks and squirm around in my belly I can see the wave like movement on my belly...haha...and when hubbee try to put his palm on my belly he will just keep still or pretending he's sleeping. Oh, what a cheeky baby!

Foodie Corner

I always love the roast duck in Singapore comparing to Msia. I find here more tastier and yummier. Somehow, the roasting of the duck is very different. My sis in law gave me a half duck yesterday and I decided to cook "lor ak" for dinner tonight.

It smells good and yummy :) ( not too bad for 1st timer) and picture speaks louder than words...

Recipe for Lor Ak (in Hokkien)

Ingredients
1. Roast Duck (half duck)
2. 2 teaspoon cooking oil
3. Hard boil eggs (qty depending on you)
4. 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
5. 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
6. 1 tablespoon black sauce
7. 1/2 tablespoon soya sauce
8. 1 teaspoon corn starch (optional)

Method:

Heat up wok with the cooking oil. Fried garlic till fragrant and add in roast duck and continue frying for at least 5 mins and add in Item 5-7. Add in egg and 1/2 cup water to make the gravy and let it simmer for 10-15 mins. If you like the gravy to be thick, add in the corn starch. Lastly, some dashes of white pepper and dish out.

Hubbee's Verdict:

:) Good for first timer
